La Tour Fondue beach

A stroll around Giens Peninsula, overlooking Porquerolles island

17 km from the campsite (25 mins) – sand & shingle – paying car park in summer – numerous shops – sheltered from easterly wind

Located in the town of Hyères in the Var, Giens Peninsula is accessible via Route de Giens or the Route du Sel (open in summer only).

You can opt for a choice of picturesque walks: Hyères port and the sheltered La Capte beaches to the East, the windswept Plage de Almanarre beach to the West – a hotspot for funboarders and kitesurfers – and various other beautiful beaches…

At the tip of the peninsula you will come to La Tour Fondue (our video), where you can catch the ferry to Porquerolles island…

You’ll be able to admire a variety of migratory birds here, just a few kilometres from the campsite, before coming back at your own pace to sip a drink, listen to the relaxing sound of chirping cicadas, or take a dip in one of the campsite’s water park pools!
