Presentation

A feast for the eyes

Heavenly bamboo, also known as Nandina domestica, is a fascinating plant appreciated for its beauty and versatility. Originating from Asia, this shrub is characterized by its delicate foliage and colourful berries. Its magnificent leaves vary from green to bright red, offering a captivating show throughout the seasons.

Heavenly bamboo is also appreciated for its low maintenance. It tolerates a whole range of environmental conditions and requires little upkeep. Whether used as a centrepiece in a flowerbed or as a decorative hedge, heavenly bamboo promises to add an exotic and elegant touch to every garden.

A genuine lucky charm!

Here at our four-star campsite Les Jardins de La Pascalinette®, we love admiring its pretty fruit in early winter when its little red berries add a touch of colour to our grounds. But beware, they are highly toxic! Luckily for our campers, its beautiful blooms can be enjoyed in summer.

Although its name is fitting, Heavenly bamboo has no relation to the bamboo we’re all familiar with! This delightful plant has lots of pretty nicknames including sacred bamboo and lucky bamboo. It is a genuine lucky charm for your camping holiday in the Var area!

Where to find it at the campsite

You’ll find heavenly bamboo on either side of Allée de La Pascalinette (nr. 23 on the botanical footpath plan).
