Your favourite family campsite invites guests to enjoy a fun, free activity* for children this year courtesy of Les ânes de Maélia, a local association offering a delightful welcome and activities for families on the theme of nature and animals.

From May 30th, children will be able to enjoy exploring the campsite’s pathways and huge variety of tree species and vegetation, with a wonderful donkey carriage or donkey ride!**

Activity available from 9 am to 2 pm:

Friday May 30th,
Monday June 9th and 16th,
then every Monday morning from June 30th to August 25th.

Departures in front of Reception, tour length 10-15 minutes. (There may be a short wait on busy days or if the donkeys are tired!)

The activities offered by Les ânes de Maélia revolve around Equine Therapy, treks and life on the ranch. The association’s members have learned how to decode the interactions and language of each donkey to offer them a wonderful life, while organising a range of fun activities to raise money for the upcoming creation of a ranch (Relais Cheval & Sanctuaire) for the donkeys and their later retirement days.

And as our campers know, we love nature – so we love their philosophy!

Let us introduce you to your hosts for the donkey rides:

Chocolatine (13 year-old female), cuddly and greedy,
Boucan (11 year-old male), who wears his name (noisy) well 😉
Caramel (14 year-old male), large, gentle and intelligent,
Septembre (16 year-old male, the big brother of Caramel), a bit grumpy, but adorable!
Tito (20 year-old male), the smallest of the herd, calm and tranquil (ideal for tiny tots),
Firmin (20 year-old male), nearing retirement, so you can only ride him from time to time.

And for the donkey carriage rides, the teams of two donkeys include Boucan, Caramel, Septembre and soon Chocolatine.
