Malesia Laurel

Originating from Asia, Ficus retusa, also referred to as Taiwanese Ficus, is a seductive indoor plant with a majestic aspect and dense foliage. Increasingly popular in Europe, this tree – part of the Moraceae family – is prized for its shiny, leathery leaves and fleshy trunk resembling that of a bonsai. In fact, specialists disagree on whether or not the Ficus retusa is actually a bonsai!

Despite their similarity, the Ficus retusa is not to be confused with the more common Ficus microcarpa. Its graceful silhouette makes it an ideal decorative plant, bringing a touch of greenery and tranquillity to every indoor space. You’ll find one adorning the cozy interior of the campsite’s restaurant-lounge bar – simply perfect!

An easy indoor plant, ideal for every plant lover

Hardy and easy to maintain, Ficus retusa is ideal for amateur gardeners or anyone seeking an undemanding houseplant. It thrives in bright but indirect sunlight and tolerates temperature fluctuations well.

It is also relatively little affected by disease and pests, making it a reliable choice if you want to add a touch of greenery to the home or office. In short, Ficus retusa embodies easy, timeless elegance, making it a resolute favourite of indoor plant lovers and, more generally, nature lovers like us! 😉
