Your favourite campsite is a bird sanctuary too!
Les Jardins de La Pascalinette ® campsite has just reached a major milestone in its commitment to protecting the environment and biodiversity. We have now been officially awarded the title of “Refuge LPO ” (Ligue de Protection des Oiseaux : Bird Protection League Sanctuary)in recognition of our continued active contribution to preserving bird species – and especially threatened species – and offering a safe space for wildlife to flourish.
The “Refuge LPO” distinction is a wonderful reward for the campsite’s efforts over the years, aimed at maintaining a balanced ecosystem that promotes the development of flora and fauna – and especially wild birds!

What is a Bird Protection League Sanctuary?
Created by the Bird Protection League, the LPO Refuges can be either public or private spaces that are managed with a view to respecting nature and protecting animal species, in particular birds of course. Their aim is to preserve – and sometimes restore – biodiversity, by providing the necessary conditions for wildlife to thrive. France is currently home to around 26,000 eco-friendly gardens awarded the “Refuge LPO” label and our campsite Les Jardins de La Pascalinette® is extremely proud to be part of this network dedicated to protecting the natural environment.
As an LPO Refuge, we are required to honour various obligations and carry out various actions. We undertake to ensure the campsite’s natural environment provides a sanctuary for birds in every season. That means offering them food resources in winter and providing safe and healthy conditions for them to nest and reproduce. Our collaboration with the Bird Protection League allows us to take part in an ecological effort that aims to support birds, as well as all types of animals that rely on our local ecosystems.
A commitment to biodiversity
Our commitment to biodiversity is nothing new! We have always been dedicated to preserving the natural wealth of this beautiful site, nestled at the heart of a magnificent Provençal pine wood. The wood – which was very luckily unharmed during the devastating forest fires of 2017 – is home to a wide variety of animal species and especially many different birds. They appreciate its peaceful atmosphere and varied vegetation, and come here to settle, build their nests and raise their babies.
Among the many bird varieties you can observe at the campsite you will no doubt come across marvellous songbirds with colourful feathers that add an additional touch of life and joy to our environment. You can enjoy discovering the full list of campsite birds by visiting our web page dedicated to campsite fauna.
We are thrilled to be able to help all these wonderful bird species flourish while offering our guests an exceptional natural setting, where the harmonious co-existence of man and nature is an absolute priority.
A nature-focused future
The prestigious “Refuge LPO” label marks a new chapter in the campsite’s history. It is a milestone that promises to anchor our commitment to sustainability and the protection of biodiversity even more deeply.
We are convinced that every little gesture counts and that everyone can contribute to preserving nature in their own way.
We invite you to come along and admire the beauty of our campsite for yourself – and in doing so, help us help the environment!
Together, we can make a difference, both today and for our future generations. Whether it be planting a tree, birdwatching, or simply revelling in the peace of our pine wood, every little counts when it comes to ensuring our planet continues to be a place where wildlife can thrive.
We truly can’t wait to welcome you to our campsite – now a nature sanctuary too – and share the magic of our exceptional environment with you.
