Presentation

Powerfully perfumed, stunningly sophisticated

The lily, or Lilium, is an iconic flower filled with grace and elegance, renowned for its exquisite beauty and captivating fragrance. With its delicate petals and hues ranging from pure white to soft pink, vibrant yellow and bright orange, the lily adds an aura of sophistication to every garden or flower arrangement.

In addition to its visual beauty, the lily is appreciated for its heady perfume. Its sweet, floral aroma fills the air with a delicious fragrance, creating a calming and romantic atmosphere.

Symbolically, the lily is associated with purity, beauty and sophistication. It is often used at special occasions such as weddings and religious ceremonies, to express respect and admiration.

The lily commonly represents the Virgin Mary. It is described in many Gallic myths and the fleur-de-lis was used to adorn the sceptres of kings. It is also found on many coats of arms, including that of the “County of Provence”!

Grace and refinement incarnate

Here at our four-star campsite Les Jardins de La Pascalinette®, we grow lilies in pots, so we can take better care of them in the chillier season. Their beautiful big flowers adorned with six petals, exuding a characteristic scent, are a joy to behold. But be careful not to touch them if you’re fussy about your clothes: their pollen stains heavily!

You’ll find lilies on show during the summer holidays near Reception, in the “Jardin du Ponant” (nr. 5 on the botanical footpath plan).
