Situated just a few kilometres (and nautical miles!) from Camping de La Pascalinette®, the Golden Islands (Iles d’Or) are a magnificent archipelago comprising three world-famed isles (Porquerolles, Port-Cros and Le Levant), together with several tiny islands (one of which is not open to the public): the Rocher du Rascas, Ilot de la Gabinière, Ile du Petit Langoustier and Ile de Bagaud.
The Golden Islands are home to many ancient military forts. You will even come across a small one – La Tour Fondue in Giens – before you embark on the crossing. Other examples include Tour Sainte Agathe and Fort de l’Alycastre (Porquerolles), Batterie du Titan (Le Levant) and Fort Eminence
(Port-Cros). Diving fans holidaying at the campsite will be spoilt for choice with the many famous wrecks found just offshore: the Donator, Ville de Grasse, Tantine, etc.
