People often ask us “What are the best things to see and do in the Var?” If you haven’t already, check out the Nos Coins de Paradis® (Our Corners of Paradise) page of our website!
Our beautiful Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region is filled with wonders. Today, our campsite Les Jardins de La Pascalinette® invites you to explore one of the nine gorgeous hilltop villages set gazing out over the Estérel hills and Bay of Cannes.
This pretty Provencal village features little lanes panning out around an ancient Feudal castle, considered as one of the village’s finest monuments. Built on a rocky outcrop, some of its towers were erected in the 12th and 13th centuries. You can visit the Guard Room during the “Journées du Patrimoine” Heritage Days festival.
You’ll find lots of other monuments in Callian too:
Pop into the village’s tourist information bureau to book a guided tour and learn all about Callian’s historic and architectural legacy.
Walking and hiking aficionados will love this excursion too: the “Circuit de la Camiole” trail offers a delightful walk in the verdant landscapes of the Estérel hills. Whether you fancy a family stroll or more sporty hike, the area features over 425 km of trails criss-crossing Saint-Raphaël – Pays de Fayence in the Var.
Painters, fashion designers and writers have all found inspiration in Callian; famous fans of the village include Nadia and Fernand Léger, Christian Dior, Anthony Burgess, Juliette Adam and painter Édouard Goerg.
And on your return from your adventure in the hills of the Var, French Riviera-Côte d’Azur, enjoy a refreshing dip in our family campsite’s water park pools!
