Tucked between steep hillsides and azure waters, Crique de la Terre Rouge cove takes its name from the distinctive red colour of its cliffs, which glow in the Mediterranean sunshine. The cove lies at the end of winding footpath, offering walkers a picturesque adventure through luxuriant vegetation and breathtaking panoramic vistas.

The red hues of the soil and rocks create a unique and dazzling seascape, especially when they are bathed in the golden rays of the setting sun. This is an ideal place for photography fans, with each moment captured seemingly a natural work of art.

One of the most captivating characteristics of this cove is its translucent, deep blue waters, striking a magnificent contrast with the intense red of the surrounding cliffs. Scuba diving and snorkelling aficionados staying at the campsite who are already familiar with the magnificent underwater panoramas of Porquerolles island and Port-Cros National Park, are sure to love this beautiful spot with its seabeds teeming with life. The rocky bottom is home to various colourful fish species, together with undulating algae and coral formations for the promise of an unforgettable Mediterranean experience.

A serene sanctuary

Crique de la Terre Rouge cove is also a peaceful retreat for those seeking tranquillity far from the hustle and bustle of the region’s busier beaches. Nestling in preserved natural scenery, the cove is a serene sanctuary, where visitors can lie back, relax and lap up the peace and quiet to the soothing sound of the waves.

This little nugget, one of Nos Coins de Paradis ® (Our Corners of Paradise), is a beautifully-preserved natural treasure you won’t want to miss if you’re a fan of stunning scenery and tranquil adventures. Campers keen to get off the beaten track of our traditional tourist hotspots and connect with Mediterranean nature in all its splendour will love this unforgettable escapade on the Côte d’Azur.
