Plage Jean Blanc - Le Lavandou

A secret and intimate beach in Le Lavandou: “The silver jewel”

White sand – gentle slope – no amenities

Located around 20 km from the campsite (30 mins by car), Plage Jean Blanc in Le Lavandou is a small, wild beach forming a quasi cove of white sand and rocks. It is ideal for campers seeking a tranquil day out and never gets very busy due to its tricky access – a long staircase consisting of around 100 steps (hence not suitable for PRM guests and difficult with a pushchair or bikes).

Surrounded by lush vegetation, just like your favourite campsite, it offers delightful refreshing areas shaded by pines. You won’t find any amenities here:

  • No shower, toilet or lifeguard,
  • But an emergency call box is available from mid-May to late September.
  • Unsupervised beach.

Its natural environment, gentle slope and welcome shade make it an agreeable choice for families, although the steep access and relative isolation can be off-putting to even the most fervent beach-goers. The silver jewel is a prize you’ll need to earn!

You won’t find a dedicated car park there and the parking spaces available along the D559 road (after the Aiguebelle quarter) are rare and generally taken in high season. Therefore, you’ll probably need to park further on and walk.

In short

A genuine jewel for the discerning beach-goer. If you enjoy a bit of a walk (and a good sweat!), Plage Jean Blanc promises ample rewards. However, if you’re looking for a bathing spot that is accessible with children, or offers ice creams, opt for one of our other wonderful beaches 😉

By car, follow the D559 road towards Le Lavandou, then continue towards the Aiguebelle quarter where the beach is located.
